Certificate of appreciation for the humanity and assistance shown during the floods

At the New Year’s reception hosted by Mayor Anto Domić and Assembly President Đorđe Kojić at the Hotel Jelena, the Vermont Youth Centre received a certificate of appreciation for its humanity, solidarity and assistance during the floods that struck in May this year.

The certificate was presented by Mayor Anto Domić, recognising the contribution and support of all Vermont Youth Centre employees and volunteers during a difficult period for our fellow citizens. In May of this year, parts of BiH were hit by floods and landslides caused by natural disasters. A large number of families were affected and needed help. As the Vermont Youth Centre carries out humanitarian activities, 166 volunteers came forward to help.

In response to the enormous material damage, tragic loss of life and disaster that struck Brčko and the surrounding areas, the “Vermont” Youth Centre launched several projects: “Let’s Bring Back the Children’s Smiles,” the opening of a children’s corner, and the distribution of vouchers to families affected by the floods, provided by the American people through the Save the Children organisation and others. This recognition encouraged the Vermont Youth Centre to make further progress in the future and to engage in similar projects.
