Roundtable on “Violence in Schools: Causes, Manifestations, Prevention”

The Department of Social Affairs of the City of Bijeljina and the Youth Psychological Counseling Center of Bijeljina University organized a roundtable on “Violence in Schools: Causes, Manifestations, Prevention.” The roundtable was held on Thursday, 15.10.2015, beginning at 14 in the Grand Hall of the Bijeljina City Administration. The aim of the gathering was to exchange views and experiences on issues affecting young people, as well as on prevention options and methods.

Recognizing the importance of this topic and the increasing presence of various forms of violence in young people’s everyday lives, more than 30 psychologists, educators, social workers, and other professionals working with young people, as well as representatives of relevant institutions dealing with juvenile delinquency, took part in the roundtable and thereby contributed to preventing violence and protecting and promoting the psychophysical development of young people in Bijeljina.

The roundtable addressed various forms of violent behavior and their prevalence in schools, possible causes, measures taken to address violent behavior, and possible approaches to prevention in order to stop violence among young people.
