Charity event: Concert in Brčko tonight, Christmas tree decorating in Bijeljina tomorrow

Nothing brings greater joy than a happy, smiling child. As the end of the year and the season of giving approach, the Youth Centre “Vermont”, the Youth Association “Race for Life”, the Day Centre in Brčko and Centar za edukaciju i istraživanje from Bijeljina are organising a CHARITY CONCERT “A sweet treat brings back a smile”, which will be held on 20.12.2015, starting at 19:00 in the Brčko City Cultural Center.

In addition to the ethno group from the Academy of Arts at Slobomir P. University in Bijeljina, whose members are Dario Zombra, Stefan Kalajdžić, Aleksandar Grujić, and vocalist Slađana Stanišić, the cultural and artistic society “Srce igra” will also perform at the charity concert.

The organisers of this concert hope to use the proceeds from ticket sales to buy New Year gift packs for children from socially disadvantaged families. Be part of the team too—come and join the activity so we can bring smiles to as many children as possible.

In addition to the charitable event in Brčko, tomorrow from 10:00, organized by the Semberija Cultural Center and Centar za edukaciju i istraživanje (CER), in cooperation with the Vermont Youth Center, a charitable event called “Decorating the tree” which will be held on the plaza in front of the Cultural Centre, where children from all the kindergartens in Bijeljina will come to decorate the Christmas tree on the plaza. After this activity, we will show a New Year’s cartoon for the youngest children in the main hall.

Decorating the Christmas tree is just one of the activities we are organizing this month as part of the campaign “A Sweet Treat Brings Back a Smile“, whose aim is to collect sweets and gift packages to be given to children whose parents are in difficult material and financial circumstances.

“Given the difficult financial situation of our fellow citizens, in 08.12.2015 we launched the charity campaign “One Sweet Brings Back a Smile” to collect sweets and New Year’s gift packages, so that little ones whose parents cannot afford this kind of holiday joy can welcome the New Year with a gift package.” said CER Director Mladen Dokić.

“Once again, we invite everyone who is willing to help to attend this charitable event and brighten the upcoming holidays for our little ones.” Dokić added.
