“As soon as you’re a citizen, you’re automatically one of the ‘others’—just listen to that, ‘others’... the ones left over, always somewhere near the back of the line, left over in the inter-entity horse-trading, so that whenever someone feels like it, they have something to f***,” is part of Đevrasim’s speech. He also urged everyone to vote for him, holding up his empty asset declaration.
“I have a Golf Mk2, but I don’t know why I’d report it when I can barely get it registered every year, yet I still have to pay all sorts of charges. If I remember correctly, 12.394 convertible marks.”
Đevrasim Cvijan is a character, an ordinary Bosnian and Herzegovinian man whose wife left him. With no money or family, he decided to enter politics so he could make things better for everyone.
He is a parody of all those who go into politics to make things better for themselves.
The slogan of the new “presjenik” Đevrasim Cvijan is original and goes: “After all the fools you’ve voted for, you might as well vote for me this year, so things can get a little better for me.”
