CER warns of children's vulnerability to human trafficking

Children in Bosnia and Herzegovina continue to be targeted by human traffickers, warns Centar za edukaciju i istraživanje /CER/, following the Council of Europe’s publication of a report that specifically highlights children’s vulnerability.

According to the report, children make up a large proportion of human trafficking victims in BiH, and the most common forms of exploitation are linked to forced begging, labour exploitation and sexual exploitation.

CER emphasizes that prevention must be strengthened, children, parents and teachers educated, and cooperation among institutions improved so that children can be protected in time.

“Human trafficking is not a problem that happens somewhere far away. It is present in our society too, and children are the most vulnerable. That is why it is our duty to respond, educate and protect every child,” said @mladendokic, director of the Centre for Education and Research.
